Terminal of the 21st century

The largest and most modern inland transshipment hub in Europe.

Official Company Statement

The East-West Gate inland intermodal terminal operates at the junction of standard and broad-gauge railways on the Hungarian-Ukrainian border. We handle transshipment between trains with different gauges as well as between rail and road vehicles, including the transfer of grain and crude oil. Our 5G-controlled cranes, operated remotely, are capable of handling specialized materials. We are leaders in adopting cutting-edge technologies for efficient and environmentally friendly operations. We are committed to contributing to the development of the region.

Location of the terminal

EWG is located near the Hungarian-Ukrainian border, in Fényeslitke, Hungary, on an area of about 85 hectares, roughly the same size as the Margaret Island in Budapest.
