EWG Terminal

EWG is the largest and most modern land-based intermodal terminal in Europe, located at the Hungarian-Ukrainian border, at the junction of the standard and broad gauge railway tracks.

Its maximum capacity is 1 million standard containers (TEU) per year.

The terminal features three separate crane tracks, each 850 meters long, capable of accommodating complete trains of up to 740 meters in length, as permitted in Europe. The cranes have a lifting capacity of 45 tons. They are suitable for handling 45-foot containers and craneable semi-trailers, as well as semi-trailers that can only be handled with specialized solutions. Currently, there is one crane operating on each railway crane track, which can later be expanded to two cranes per track.

There is one crane operating in the terminal's paved storage area, which can later be expanded with additional cranes.

The terminal is equipped with 4 mobile container handling equipment, 5 terminal tractors, and 10 terminal semi-trailers.

The terminal is served on the broad gauge via the Csop-Záhony-Komoró route, while the standard service is provided directly from the Fényeslitke railway station.
